This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Reston, Virginia area.Key responsibilities- Steer the accounting team during the closing process to warrant deadlines are met- Compose diverse procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses- Assist to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment- Analyze and create Ad Hoc financial reports- Work on other requests when required- Help with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting- Backfill for Controller as necessary- Warrant regular account reconciliation to completion- Incite accountability and the meeting of deliverables- Maintain implementation and insure adherence to accounting policies and procedures- Pinpoint and develop process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency- Progressive preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits- Design relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and the monthly flash report
